In the fourth quarter of each year, the ACCI organizes an examination for issuing licenses to candidates.
The examination targets candidates from all African nationalities with at least three years experience in the fields of intelligence, competitive intelligence, or documentation.
Applications must be submitted latest 1st September of each year.
Each entry consists of a detailed CV and a cover letter.

The contest date is announced on the ACCI website and all its networks. The certification exam consists of a written test (essay) of four hours, an oral test of two hours followed by a practical test of eight hours.
The tests can be taken in English or French. It is also possible to take the test online.
Chaired by the very best of ACCI, the examination board is composed of a group of highly qualified experts set up by the central office.
Official results are published on 1st January of the following year on the ACCI website and all its networks.
The approval of ACCI has a term of three years and can be renewed after a review. It can as well be cancelled at any time by the office, in cases of non-compliance to the Code of Ethics of the Centre by the approved expert.
