[ACCI-CAVIE] Paratus, a Namibian-based digital infrastructure company committed to transforming Africa through exceptional digital infrastructure and customer service, has announced the construction of its largest satellite teleport facility in Doornkloof, Pretoria. The teleport facility is expected to be completed in August 2023.

For Paratus, the teleport indicates the company’s landmark in advancing investments and infrastructural growth, providing high-performance satellite connectivity to South African businesses and organisations. In addition, the teleport will supply end users and providers with the needed services despite power outages and facilitate various satellite connectivity services to all its customers and business for accelerated economic growth.

The teleport’s key features include:

1. Dual redundant systems on all network infrastructure, from generators and backhaul to hosted environments;

2. The Paratus backbone network allows connectivity to and from multiple countries via terrestrial and subsea fibre routes;

3. Dual redundant fibre routes to two independent data centres in South Africa;

4. Dual power feeds, including dual UPS and multiple generators; and

5. End-to-end management by Paratus South Africa.
