[CAVIE-ACCI] The African Centre for Competitive Intelligence has chosen Brussels to host the Estates General of Francophone Economic Intelligence (EGIEF2023). It was in the European capital that its President, Guy GWETH, made the announcement at the end of his audience with the Minister of State André FLAHAUT on May 19, 2022 in the Belgian federal parliament.
Via a tweet by the Minister of State and Member of Parliament André FLAHAUT on May 19, 2022, the international press learned of the visit of a delegation from the African Centre for Competitive Intelligence (ACCI) to the Belgian parliament.
Asked about the content of their interviews, the Number 1 of ACCI, accompanied by Christian NYOMBAYIRE, Head of the Department of Public Affairs and Development of the Centre, said it was first a visit of friendship and work to a great friend of Africa particularly active in building a balanced and respectful North-South partnership.
Guy GWETH then added that he had also come to receive the support of the Belgian authorities for the organization, on 19 and 20 October 2023, of the Estates General of Francophone Economic Intelligence (EGIEF).
“Given the number of French speakers in African markets (60% of the 321 million in the world), ACCI felt it had to take this historic initiative to help boost the economic Francophonie by bringing together those involved in its competitiveness, from north to south and from east to west,” said the Chair of ACCI.
Recall that following the publication of the African Framework for Monitoring and Economic Intelligence (RAVI) by ACCI, the latter had already organized the Estates General of African Economic Intelligence (EGIEA) on 29-30 April 2019 at the King Fadh Palace Hotels in Dakar. The event involved officials, researchers, operatives, schools, associations and media from all over the continent for a better competitiveness of economic actors operating in African markets.
